My friend Kari came through San Diego on her way back from an internship in Florida, giving me an excuse to put away the books for a weekend and enjoy spending time with her and exploring San Diego. It took me back to the August visit with cousins and uncles who helped me settle into my new abode, which was probably the last time I did any San Diego exploration, aside from a couple outings with classmates.
We went on a hike, and checked out the beach at Torrey Pines State Reserve. It was so wonderful to see a bit more of San Diego, to get out and move, and to enjoy the beauty of God's creation (we saw some very playful dolphins, and are 99% sure we saw a whale spouting.)
Having a whole weekend almost entirely free of schoolwork was a welcome break. And it's inspired me to stay on top of things so I can have more adventures on future weekends :) But for now, I've got a brochure to create, a paper to write, and therapy to plan, so I'm hitting the books!
